Philip McKay

Philip has 23 years’ experience as an environmental planner, primarily in local government. He has gained valuable experience in the various aspects of Territorial Local Authority planning, including consents processing and policy planning, as well as team leadership and management.

From 2010-2015, Philip managed the team responsible for reviewing the Hastings District Plan from preparation stage through to the release of decisions on submissions. This gave him a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t in achieving solid outcomes. Since then, he has been consulting for private, council and government clients. His experience includes providing evidence and appearing as an expert witness to both council and Environment Court hearings relating to both resource consents and plan making.
